Our Trench Drain Filter Boom protects stormwater systems from oil and hydrocarbon pollutants. Its above-drain design features an oil-absorbing non-woven geotextile. Which removes hydrocarbons from surface water without restricting stormwater runoff flow rate.

These inlet filters measure 8ft long by 3in diameter. It is extremely easy and convenient to position alongside channel drains. The low profile is suitable for drive-over vehicle traffic and won't "burst" like traditional sock booms can. Filters are capable of absorbing up to 13 times its own weight of liquid oils.

Trench drain filters are ideal for vehicle maintenance and parking areas with low flow rain wash. As well as commercial fueling stations and other industrial sites with channel drainage systems. Stop residual fuel contaminants from entering your storm drains for Best Management Practices (BMP).

High-performance filtering sorbent

This channel drain filtering media is made of X-Tex, a durable and long lasting geotextile. On average, trench drain filters absorb 13 times their own weight in liquid hydrocarbons.

X-Tex material is hydrophilic which means it gets wet with water (unlike polypropylene). Its proprietary blend of fibers absorb oil and grease without restricting water flow through the material.

These properties provide high efficiency and excellent flow while trapping sediment and oil contaminants.

Excellent tensile strength means it resists rips, tears and punctures. So it is heavy duty enough to handle vehicle traffic driving over it.

It does not leach harmful substances. And also produces minimal residue or ash when incinerated.

All businesses need measures in place to prevent oil discharge into storm drain systems. Not only to protect the environment, but to help avoid expensive fines.

Rain can quickly wash small pools of gasoline, leaking oils and other harmful chemicals into drains. This is often problematic for facilities with large asphalt or concrete surface areas. Like commercial gas stations and shipping or maintenance yards that operate heavy equipment.

Catch basin inserts and other in-drain filters offer one solution. However these filter systems don't always "fit" awkward shape channel drains.

The unique design of this above-ground inlet filter is ideal for long, narrow and shallow drains. Soaking up oily contaminants before they have a chance to enter channel drains. And won't create a "dam" around trench drain inlets. Because water easily passes through the filtration material.

Installation and use

Suitable applications include any open space with trench drainage systems or channel drain inlets. Such as driveways, courtyards, garage entrances/exits, warehouses, storage facilities and parking lots.

Install this trench drain filter with or without a rebar ballast (not provided). Inserting rebar into the center of the boom's hole helps prevent movement during heavy winds or rain.

Position the filter in front of and along the trench/channel drain grate edge. They are easy to handle and move as necessary. Due to its low profile design and color, the filter easily blends into surrounding landscape.

Vehicle traffic across the channel drain filter will not affect its performance. The filter will also not damage the drain grate or vehicle tires.

Regularly inspect the filter to monitor it for oil absorption. Rotate the filter every month for even absorbing. Replace quarterly or as it becomes full.
