Product Information

Our traffic channelizer drums feature a heavy duty construction of high or low density orange polyethylene. The two-piece designs come with four interchangeable styles of traffic drum bases. Tops and bases have a breakaway design that separate in the event of vehicle impact but stay locked together during placement. Snap to connect sand ballasting and rubber bases, or, slip the tire ring over the top. A retaining lip and flange at the base of the drum provides additional strength.

Three options of reflective sheeting grades, bright orange color, and the 18in wide by 36in high size offer excellent visibility. To increase sight at night, attach optional LED lights to mount-holes on the built-in carry handle. The drum's taper design allows lights to remain in place for stackable storage.

Channelizer drums are easy to reshape and salvage after most impact damage which saves money and reduces landfill plastic. The high quality resin includes UV stabilizers to minimize fading and retain the bright orange color. Drums are suitable for all weather outdoor use and won't become brittle or crack. A gentle curve design without sharp edges or corners better resists breaks.

The versatile components of our traffic channelizers fit any delineation application need and budget. Top quality materials

Made of the highest grade plastic resins, these heavy duty channelizer drums are engineered to withstand most impacts. Built-in UV stabilizers prevent the bright orange color from fading due to sun exposure during outdoor use. LDPE is softer and more flexible, while HDPE offers greater rigidity and durability.

The innovative "D" shape of the channelizer drum minimizes rolling in the event of a motorist collision. The durable 2-piece design allows drums and bases to break apart during impact. Reshape flattened drum tops by applying hand pressure to smooth out dents and restore the shape.

Rubber base options

Our 25lb rubber tire ring base is an economical and environmentally friendly option. The rubber ring reuses truck tire sidewall sections and helps reduce landfill waste. Simple to use, drop one or more 22.5" diameter tire rings over the channelizer drum. They offer excellent surface mount grip and stability even in windy conditions, without the need for sandbag ballasts.

The molded recycled rubber bases are available in 25lb or 40lb weight options. Built in carry handles assist with transport and placement convenience. The channelizer drum base and top snap lock and stay together even when dragging them into location. The 25lb rubber base is a good choice for lower speed zone applications.

Both types of rubber-made bases take up less space during transport or storage and require less set up to save your road crew time and money!

Polyethylene ballast bases

Sandbag polyethene bases are another economical and easy to use channelizer component. Place the base on the road surface, add a sandbag and snap-lock the drum into place over the top. These impact resistant bases nest in stackable lots for shipping and transportation convenience.

The sand ballasting base has a 4" low profile height to easily clear vehicle undercarriages. These bases hold approximately 50lbs of sand and can support most vehicle weight in the event of being driven over. Two molded-in carry handles and a large twist-lock cover aid placement and filling of this base unit.

Traffic barrel reflective collar options

Both our HDPE and LDPE drums are available with three grades of reflective collar sheeting. Choose from either 4" or 6" high reflective collar bands. Retroreflectivity degrades over time, depending on the sheeting material you choose:

• Engineer Grade (EG) - returns the least amount of light and lasts approximately 5 years.
• High Intensity Prismatic (HI) - returns approximately 32% of light from 800 to 1,200 feet away and has a lifespan of about 10 years.
• Diamond Grade (DG) - returns about 60% retroreflectivity with visibility between 1,300 and 1,600 feet away and a 12 year service life.
