A safer alternative to steel tools
Standard steel tools can cause friction and impact sparks during normal use, with striking or scraping actions. Steel alloy tools also pose a risk around hazardous materials if you accidentally drop them on a concrete floor. Such static or mechanical sparks can easily ignite in explosive environments like petrochemical plants and other ATEX/Ex zones.
This non-sparking tool set is essential for locations with concerns about sparks igniting solvents, liquids, dusts or residues. The versatile kit includes a variety of common-use tools including hammer, spanner, screwdrivers, pliers, brush, scrapers, wrenches and more. It is ideal for maintenance and repairs in manufacturing, marine, public utility, or transport operations, as well as government and military agencies.
Beryllium-free construction
Our non-sparking tools do not contain potentially harmful beryllium bronze, or beryllium copper/copper-beryllium alloys. All handtools feature metal compositions of aluminum-bronze (Al-Br), copper nickel alloy and copper-aluminum alloys.
The hammer's fiberglass handle grip is 10 time stronger than wood, easier to clean, and offers better vibration resistance. Plier insulation grips are impact resistant and flame retardant.
While these spark-proof alloys typically have less tensile strength than steel alloys, all tools promise a lifetime-warranty on performance.
Lifetime warranty
Enjoy the additional confidence of knowing that these safety tools come with the backing of a lifetime warranty. If a tool breaks or fails to perform under normal service, a free replacement or repair is available.
The warranty exceptions are for defects as a result of misuse, or, normal wear and tear.
Safe use and maintenance
- Only use these tools for their intended purpose, to reduce the risk of injury or damage.
- Take special care to properly ground tools with anti-static handles prior to use. This includes the claw hammer's fiberglass grip and combination plier handles. Gloves and shoes worn by personnel must have conductive soles of leather, or, grounding straps.
- Ensure these tools do not come in direct contact with acetylene, especially in the presence of moisture. This may result in the formation of explosive acetylides.
- Safety experts recommend storing your non-spark tools separately to standard steel tools.
- We suggest monitoring and dressing tool faces/heads as part of normal operating maintenance process.
- Keep tools clean and free from ferrous and other contaminates which may impede non-spark properties.
